Tamar Klaiman assisted in organizing the first webinar in a series aimed at helping researchers understand how to work with the media, called “Research’s Recognition in the Media: Two Sides of the Same Coin,” hosted by AcademyHealth’s Public Health Systems Research (PHSR) and Advocacy Interest Groups (IGs), aired September 30, 2014.

Professional Activity

Adeboye Adejare was selected in the first round of 33 African-born academics working in North America for 31 projects at 24 universities across Africa under the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program. He will conduct research on the interaction between compounds and small endogenous materials that can serve as targets for drug action with professor Chinedum Babalola at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria.

Vernon Browne successfully defended his dissertation on “The Effect of Maternal Low Protein Diet during Pregnancy and Lactation on the Status of Lipid Homeostasis and Mitochondrial Function in Adult Rat Offspring”; his faculty advisor was Anil D’mello.
